Biography:

  • 1994-1999: studied philosophy, classical philology, and history at the University of Greifswald
  • 2004: Ph.D., supervised by Werner Stegmaier; dissertation on ‘The Greeks in Nietzsche’s Thinking,’ published in German: Die Griechen im Denken Nietzsches (Berlin / New York: De Gruyter, 2005)
  • 2006: visiting fellow at the German Archeological Institute in Athens and the American School of Classics in Athens
  • 2005-2010: teaching and research at the University of Greifswald
  • 2011-2012: visiting professor in Brazil (Campinas, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, and Belem)
  • 2013-2018: research group leader at the International Center for Philosophy NRW and lecturer at the philosophy department of the University of Bonn
  • since 2019: project coordinator of an international research project about Nietzsche at the University of Freiburg
